What should students expect in your classes?
When you join us for a Sound/Song Bath you can expect to feel extremely relaxed - you might fall asleep and that's ok! Many people report that they see colors, have vivid dreams - and most are shocked by how quickly the hour goes. I'm a bit of a science geek when it comes to sound healing - so you might hear more talk about entrainment of vibrating molecules than about chakras, lol!
When you're not practicing yoga, what do you like to do?
In the very little time that I'm NOT making, teaching or listening to music, you can find me hanging with my new pup, crocheting or getting dirty in the garden.
What/who inspires you?
I am inspired by anyone who works to keep us humans connected through art, music, dance and spirit.
What are the MOST important things you want your students to walk out of your class having experienced?
I want my students to leave feeling a deeper connection to themselves and others in the class. I want them to feel like they got to unplug for a bit. And I want them to know that by showing up to take care of themselves, they help make the world a better place.
“I want my students to know that by showing up to take care of themselves, they help make the world a better place.”
What do you love music?
I love to make music the same way I love to breathe. It's not something I choose to do - it's just part of my human experience and, I believe, my purpose on this planet. Music making is wrapped up in the earliest memories I have. I've never known a time where I wasn't involved in making music - listening to it, moving to it, writing, performing, teaching and all its forms.
What challenges you?
My biggest challenge - and passion - is to help people break free from the lifelong story they tell themselves (or someone told them when they were young) around their ability to sing, dance, play an instrument, etc. Everyone is musical and I'd love to prove that to you!
