Teacher Training will change your life.

And we want to be the ones to help you do it.

Because doing a teacher training is about more than becoming a yoga teacher. (In fact, you might not want to be one!)

But we bet you LOVE yoga.

Maybe you feel, like we do, that yoga has become of the most transformative experiences of your life. That it helped you find yourself. That it helped you heal. That it changed you, body, mind, + soul.

And maybe some small part of you knows you’re READY… for more.

Here’s what more looks like:

This is a 6 month immersive experience is taught by a faculty of yoga teachers and experts in their fields. Our teachers truly care about your growth, finding your path, and how you get to know yourself.

Our teacher trainers come with expertise ranging from mental health, inclusion, physiology, philosophy, and beyond. Students will learn not just about teaching yoga: they’ll learn how to deepen their practice, cultivating a meaningful connection to themselves and others, and learn skills that come off the mat with them and into the real world… all in a supportive group and with caring one-on-one mentorship.

Our Curriculum Includes:

  • Connection to ourselves, each other, and our world

  • Honoring the traditional wisdom + history of yoga and understanding it’s meaning and evolution

  • Exploring the many incarnations and paths of yoga, including the sister sciences, lineages, and connected practices

  • Creating + maintaining a safe, trauma-informed, consent based, welcoming and inclusive environment

  • Breathwork, pranayama, and the many other limbs of yoga outside of movement and asana

  • Weaving the threads of science and magic found in yoga

  • Leadership; as yoga practitioners + within our communities

  • Asana Labs to break down postures, anatomy, and our approach to individual alignment

  • Holding space for others while creating boundaries of self-care for ourselves

  • Examining what brought you to yoga and using that to create meaning, power and resilience on and off the mat

  • Authentically examining yoga -- the beautiful, the challenging, the real

  • Learning and honing our skills as students + teachers

  • Understanding how yoga applies to our life off the mat, and using those experiences to create storytelling on and off the mat

  • Self-work, coaching, and creating a healing relationship with ourselves

  • Cultivating a community of encouragement and understanding

  • Understanding movement, mobility, and anatomy

  • Connecting this practice to the brain, the nervous system, and understanding how they work

  • How to build business acumen that supports your career and ability to teach

  • and much, much, much more….

We believe yoga should be accessible to all.

Our trainings are on a community based, tiered, pay-what-you’re-able scholarship scale.

We want to be clear — your financial situation is in no way a barrier, regardless of where you are financially in life.

Our community raises money throughout the year to off-set this sliding scale because we are a collective who cares about each other.

These tiers are on an application only basis, + we encourage you to choose the tier you are able to contribute while valuing the level of effort and work and our efforts to pay our staff a living wage.

“I spent months debating whether or not I should start my yoga teacher training… and the only regret I have is that I did not do it at Vira sooner.

The Vira Yoga Teacher Training absolutely changed me, both as a yogi and as a human being. I graduated stronger, both physically and mentally, and with a personal power that the teachers and fellow trainees helped me to cultivate during the training. The Vira Yoga Teacher Training helped improve my own accountability for my practice, making doing yoga a priority in my life every single day—and that means more than just getting on my mat and moving. It means practicing compassion, self-restraint, patience, kindness, and so much more, both in the yoga studio and beyond. At Vira’s training, I learned this and so much more than I could ever express in words, and I fostered connections with the trainees and teachers that are now invaluable in my life as a yoga teacher and practitioner. “
