Are you ready…

To explore a practice that has been experienced by millions of people for over 100 years and is the foundation for all of Vinyasa yoga classes?

To help people connect more deeply and meaningfully to themselves?

To develop your student's sense of self-confidence, on and off the mat?

To create a consistent and sacred space within the confines of everyday life?

…and to learn the tools that can help us as teachers create meaningful classes and experiences for our students?

Then this is the Advanced Teacher Training for you. Roots of Ashtanga is your opportunity to do all that and more…

An advanced Training for adept yoga teachers who want to gain in-depth knowledge about the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system:

The “what”, “why”, and “how”…

to craft intelligent, inclusive and cohesive ashtanga inspired classes using the wisdom and structure of the Ashtanga Primary and Intermediate series.

What you’ll learn:

History of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga - Through the lens of Patanjali’s yoga sutras, students will explore the textural history of the very origins of yoga, the intentional intelligence between the Ashtanga practice and the philosophy of yoga itself, where Ashtanga Yoga comes from, and what tools within Ashtanga Vinyasa help us facilitate each limb of a holistic yoga practice.

The Methodology of Ashtanga Yoga - From linking the postures together intentionally and intelligently, to Cadence/Pacing, how to teach with modifications, adjustments, and making classes accessible - students will understand both the “Why” and the “How” behind Ashtanga Yoga in a modern context.

Philosophy and Meaning: Vinyasa Krama/Tristhana, stilling the vrittis, Kriya Yoga: Tapas, Svadhyaya, Ishvara Pranidhana, Attachment & Aversion - students will break down the esoteric and philisophical elements of this practice in a way the creates connection on and off the mat, and a practical ability to integrate these elements into their own philosophy and teaching.

Crafting vinyasa classes based on traditional Ashtanga sequences, sequencing off of themes, holding space, cueing, and much more…
